EMPLOYMENT AND CAREER DEVELOPMENT

The Mongolian government's action program for 2016-2020, sanctioned by the Great Khural of Mongolia through Resolution No. 45 in 2016, emphasizes a special program: "The student with income." Its purpose is to foster part-time employment opportunities for students during their academic tenure.

Benefits derived from this initiative span economic and social dimensions, including generating income to assist with tuition, ensuring livelihood expenses, orienting students towards a career path, imbibing work discipline and culture, getting work-ready, honing competencies, specializing in one's field of study, and enhancing employability post-graduation.

Given these growing needs, MNUE has collaborated with the Capital City Employment Agency to facilitate student employment, and part-time opportunities, and to disseminate related information. Per the agency's approved structure, the MNUE Student Employment Support Center is staffed by 2 MNUE students, with the core team comprising one teacher and one student.

Each constituent school within MNUE boasts its own Student Employment Support Center, equipped with informational boards for students. As sanctioned by the Ministry of Education and Culture, the overarching Student Employment Center of MNUE also follows a structure of two students and one teacher.

MNUE's career service staff, overseeing the Employment Support Centers, have been certified to offer career guidance, having attended Career Orientation Training sessions organized by the Capital City Employment Agency.

Notably:

In 2017, of the 150 students seeking employment, 90 secured positions.

In 2018, 420 students enrolled for employment initiatives with 154 securing part-time roles.

Between January-December 2019-2020, 1,100 students registered, resulting in 280 part-time placements, 216 general employments, and 318 engaged in professional training programs, eventually securing jobs.

Furthermore, each employed student earned a stipend of 200,000 MNT, courtesy of the Capital City Employment Agency. This initiative significantly aided students to strike a balance between academics and part-time employment. By December 2019, a remarkable 986 students collaborated with the Capital City Employment Agency.

Additionally, since 2019, MNUE has maintained a proactive stance, collaborating with potential employers. Regular meetings and events are held in conjunction with the capital's local Department of Education, Culture and Arts, and with various public and private educational institutions.
