On August 22, 2025, the Mongolian National University of Education (MNUE) and the A.I. Herzen University of Russia officially signed a cooperation agreement. The signing ceremony was attended by Rector S.V. Tarasov of Herzen University, Vice-Rector for International Cooperation S.A. Sheremet, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs T.G. Ryboretskaya, and D. Batsaikhan, Head of the Open Education Center affiliated with Secondary School No. 162 in Ulaanbaatar. Representing MNUE were President J. Batbaatar, Vice-president for Research and Cooperation B. Khoroldagva, Head of the International Relations Office G. Tsogzolmaa, Head of the Russian Language Department at the School of Humanities and Social Sciences Sh. Tsolmon, and Professor S. Erdenemaam, advisor to the department. During the meeting, both universities exchanged views on potential areas of collaboration and signed the agreement. Key areas outlined in the agreement include: • Establishing an Open Education Center for Russian Language • Implementing early childhood education programs • Organizing faculty and student exchange initiatives This agreement aims to deepen the multifaceted relationship between the two countries in the field of education and elevate international cooperation to a new level. The signing marks the successful outcome of discussions initiated during the visit of Vice-Rector S.A. Sheremet and his delegation to Mongolia in March 2025, when they explored opportunities for collaboration between the two institutions.
