On June 2, 2026, the Mongolian National University of Education organized a meeting with representatives of European partner institutions who visited Mongolia within the framework of the ERASMUS+ RETEACH National Capacity-Building Training.
The meeting was attended by Assoc. Prof. G. Tsogzolmaa, Director of the International Relations Office of MNUE; Assoc. Prof. T. Ganbaatar, Dean of the School of Mathematics and Natural Sciences; Dr Kh. Batbold, Head of the Department of Physics; Dr D. Uuriintuya, Head of the Department of Lifelong Learning and Distance Education of the School of Educational Studies; and Dr B. Nyamjargal, Officer of the International Relations Office.
From the European partner institutions, the meeting was attended by Prof. Daniela Popa and Prof. Codruta Jaliu from Transilvania University of Brașov, Romania; Prof. Elena Mignosi, Prof. Antonella D’Amico, and Eliana Danzi from the University of Palermo, Italy; and Federico Mallei and Rita Quisillo from the NGO CESIE ETS.
The meeting was organized by the International Relations Office of MNUE and focused on exchanging views on opportunities to further expand cooperation with the European universities and organization. During the meeting, the parties discussed several potential areas of future cooperation. In particular, they exchanged views on cooperation with Transilvania University of Brașov, Romania, in the areas of professional development for higher education teachers, professional support for natural science teachers, student mobility, and the possibility of establishing an inter-institutional agreement.
With the University of Palermo, Italy, the parties discussed opportunities for research cooperation, guest lectures, student, academic and administrative staff mobility, as well as the possibility of joint and double degree programmes.
With CESIE ETS, the parties highlighted potential cooperation within the framework of European Union programmes such as Erasmus+ and Horizon, particularly in the areas of education, research, innovation, social inclusion, youth and adult education, higher education reform, project partnerships and management, and capacity building for teachers and staff.
The meeting was significant as an initial exchange of views aimed at further expanding the international cooperation established through the RETEACH project into a more practical, sustainable, and results-oriented partnership within MNUE.
At the end of the meeting, the participants agreed to continue exploring possible areas of cooperation and to develop more detailed proposals at the level of relevant units and constituent schools. The meeting concluded with a group photo
