In a significant stride towards fostering international education opportunities, the Testzentrum Ulaanbaatar, an official center for language proficiency and German language level tests required for admission to German universities, has been inaugurated at the Mongolian National University of Education (MNUE).
The opening ceremony of Testzentrum Ulaanbaatar witnessed the presence of distinguished guests, including Associate Professor N. Myagmartsooj, Dean of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences (SHSS), Mr. Ingo Hapke, the representative of the German Embassy responsible for economic and cultural affairs, Professor Mrs. H. Ms. Monika Egger, Head of the Department of Higher Education Abroad, Ms. G. Ariuntsetseg, Head of the Department of German Language Policy at the Goethe Institute, Germany, and Mr. Christian Kellner, Resident Representative of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) at MNUE. The event was also attended by representatives of German language teachers from Mongolian universities and elementary schools.
The Testzentrum Ulaanbaatar will conduct a range of examinations catering to various levels of German language proficiency. Notable exams to be organized at the center include:
TestDaF: An electronic test assessing German language knowledge and skills required for admission to German universities.
onSET: A foreign language proficiency test.
TestAS: A cognitive and professional aptitude test for foreign students aiming to pursue Bachelor's level studies.
dMAT: A Cognitive and Professional Aptitude Test for Foreign Students applying for Master's Level programs.
The establishment of Testzentrum Ulaanbaatar underscores MNUE's commitment to providing its students and the wider community with access to internationally recognized language proficiency assessments. This initiative is expected to facilitate smoother pathways for individuals aspiring to pursue higher education in Germany.
